Description

An exploration of the visual arts from ancient civilizations through the medieval period (prehistory to 1400 CE). Students analyze major works of painting, sculpture, architecture, and material culture to understand how art reflects cultural identity, power, belief systems, and daily life across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Emphasis is placed on historical context, artistic innovations, and cross-cultural connections.
