Description

An exploration of the visual arts from the 19th century to the present, focusing on key artistic movements, figures, and themes across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Students analyze how art reflects and responds to major historical and cultural shifts, including the rise of individualism, global exchanges, and technological advancements. Emphasis is placed on painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, and new media, with particular attention to art’s role in shaping identity, power, and the evolving role of the artist in society.
