Description
A guided inquiry approach to the basic concepts of inorganic chemistry with emphasis on stoichiometry of chemical reactions of solids, solutions, and gases, atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding, and thermochemistry. This course includes a laboratory component. During the lab, students (working in groups) formulate their own directions to discover the identity and properties of compounds. Fall. Prerequisite: Placement in MTH 130. Note: One three-hour laboratory per week.
