Description

Analytical Chemistry for Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing
This course provides an in-depth exploration of analytical chemistry principles and their critical applications in the fields of biomanufacturing and bioprocessing. Emphasis is placed on the analytical techniques used to ensure product quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance in the production of biologics, including monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and cell/gene therapies. Students will learn to apply chromatography, spectroscopy, electrophoresis, and bioassays in the context of upstream and downstream processing, with hands-on exposure to quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and process analytical technologies (PAT). The course bridges theory and industry-relevant practice, preparing students for careers in pharmaceutical biotechnology and regulatory science.

In the Laboratory students will gain hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and techniques used in the production and quality control o
