Description

The internship experience provides field-based training designed to develop competencies needed by school principals. Emphasis will be on instructional leadership, organizational management, human resource management, personnel evaluation, budgeting, and accountability systems. In this course, the student will be placed in a public school as an administrative intern for one semester for a minimum total of 250 hours. The intern in collaboration with the school supervisor will develop an internship plan, including administrative duties and responsibilities. The intern will follow the policies, procedures and regulations of the college and local school system and adhere to the calendar of the local school system. Interns will be under the supervision of the school supervisor and the College Director.

Prerequisite: Open to only students participating in principal preparation programs.
