Description

(Methods and Models in Gifted Education)
Course content includes an examination of the process of modifying basic curricula in content, process, products and learning environments for the academically and/or intellectually gifted learner. Emphasis is on interdisciplinary approaches to instruction as well as other integrative methods for designing appropriate learning experiences for gifted learners. Participants will focus on adapting the Common Core Standards to meet the needs of gifted students through utilizing curriculum planning models to better ensure that the diverse needs of the gifted are met. Various curriculum models will be explored, utilized and compared. The curriculum models will be chosen to best meet the needs of the participants.
