Description
This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the American legal system, its origins, and its players. The main content of the course pertains to the court structure in the United States and the relationship between trial and appellate courts, the roles of various players within the system, the contrasts between civil and criminal law and procedure, and the evolution of sentencing guidelines and policies in the past two decades.
