(Thesis Research Project, Paper and Oral Defense)

This course creates an opportunity to integrate knowledge of criminological theory and criminal justice policies with research skills gained throughout the program, while working toward completion of the graduate degree. Successful completion of this course requires the formulation of a research question that addresses and identified societal/criminological problem, the conceptualization of the scope of the answer, an operationalization of the research to be done, submission of an in-depth research proposal addressing theory, methodology, and policy. As the second of two thesis track courses, CCJ 602 requires successful completion of a thesis research project, preparation, submission and successful oral defense of a written theses.
